These photos are so special to us. My parents were visiting from Europe, and I really wanted to capture this time together—something for us all to remember, especially for my son, who’s growing up without extended family around him. My parents aren’t used to professional photos—they find it a bit strange and unnecessary—and they don’t really know how to relax in front of a camera. They never even had their wedding pictures taken by a professional!
I’d also put off having family photos done for years myself, never feeling quite ready or happy enough with how I looked, and kept pushing it back.
Alana just understood exactly what I was hoping for. I’d followed her work on Instagram, so I knew I loved her style, but meeting her in person was even better.
She made the whole process feel easy. She had clothes for all of us—even for the boys!—and met us at the venue, guiding us all so gently through the shoot. Even with the language barrier, she helped my parents feel comfortable and took such care with every detail.
I’ve just seen the raw images and couldn’t be happier.
I honestly can’t recommend Alana enough. She’s given us memories we’ll treasure forever.
